Community-Driven Resilience
Unleashing the power of people to create solutions for a bright future.
While climate change is driven by global emissions, its effects are highly localized. Communities are at the front lines of experiencing and responding to impacts ranging from sea-level rise, inundation and flash-flooding to drought and extreme heat events – and the associated risks to everything from public health to the ecosystem services that support communities. Communities across the country have the opportunity right now to build resilience so they can bounce back quickly from devastating effects of climate change.
Our work on community-driven resilience helps grow the capacity of communities to better address the environmental, economic, and social challenges of their lives. We believe that local people must to be part of the solution to assess, prepare for, manage, and respond to increasingly volatile climate variability and change.
We focus our efforts on working with communities to implement specific climate resilience, clean energy and mitigation projects that meet the needs of its residents, especially low-income and vulnerable populations.
