Clean Energy Cities
Advancing cities towards their transition to renewable energy.
Nearly 200 countries have agreed that we must transition to 100% renewable energy by 2050 to stave off the worst impacts of climate disruption and preserve a habitable planet for our children and grandchildren. This will be difficult, to be sure, but doable.
To get this done, cities need to lead the way. Some cities are already setting ambitious climate and energy goals, creating innovative partnerships with electricity providers and accelerating their local solar energy markets. Many more cities want to move in this direction, but it is relatively new territory for them, and the challenges are daunting.
Our work helps communities advance, accelerate and scale-up efforts to dramatically increasing their renewable energy use.
Solar + Battery Storage to Support Community Resilience

To help local leaders implement solar + battery storage to support community resilience.
Solar Market Pathways: 2017

This third annual event brought together each of the 14 Solar Market Pathways projects that have been working since 2015 to develop and implement innovative approaches to accelerating the deployment of solar energy. Now, in the last year of the program, this workshop focused on maintaining momentum beyond the award period, disseminating this work to a broader audience, and inspiring replication of best practices.
Turning Energy Data into Action

Held in partnership with the National Renewable Energy Laboratory to equip cities with tools to make data-driven decisions that will advance their clean energy strategies.
